Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a financial advisor?

There are many reasons someone would use a financial advisor. They include:

  • Investing, let alone taking care of all your financial issues, is more complicated than it has ever been. It is helpful to have someone looking out for your needs and helping you take advantage of all the possibilities available to you.
  • It can take an enormous amount of time to do proper research and implement a plan. Why not delegate that work to a professional so you can spend your time on the things that matter to you most?
  • Staying the course with your financial plan is not always easy. It helps to have an objective third party watching over your assets and making sure you stick to your plan.

When should I start using a financial advisor?

It is never too early—or too late—to begin using a financial advisor. Each stage of life presents different challenges and opportunities to your financial well-being. The sooner you start getting things in order, the better off you will be in the future.

What services do you offer?

Financial planning and investment management are our most common services, but we have many financial services available. Please see our Services page.

What is your investment philosophy?

We believe in a long-term approach with emphasis on growth and preservation of assets. Please see our Services page.

Do your advisors hold any certifications?

All of our advisors are currently, or on track to be, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals. Please see www.cfp.net or www.letsmakeaplan.org for more information.

In addition, we also have direct access to professionals that hold other certifications including Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Enrolled Agent (EA).

How are you compensated?

We are fee-only advisors. We do not receive commissions or other fees from any third party.

Is being a fee-only advisor an advantage?

There is no one-size-fits-all form of compensation. We have designed our compensation in a way that we believe offers the most transparency and best keeps our interest aligned with our clients, ensuring we can give the most objective advice possible.

What do you charge?

Our compensation comes only from our clients. Investment management is generally compensated as a percentage of investments under our management. Other services are available at an hourly rate, with an estimate of time involved provided before any project begins. Please contact us for further details.

Why do you charge separate fees for investment management and other services?

Not everyone needs everything. Separating the fees allows you to pay for only the services that are most important to you and enables us to keep your costs down.

Where are you located and how can I get a hold of you?

Our office is located on the East side of downtown Milwaukee, at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave., Suite 1475. Please see our Contact Us page for more specific information.
